Nothing like picnics.....

I recollect those good olden days
The days of picnic from school to zoo park
All the excitement starts from that date
Declaring  picnic  on the 3rd Saturday of November month

All friends sit and discuss...what to wear
The dress, the color, the ribbons, the shoes
The lunch box, the snacks, the water bottle
Everything being discussed with all the excitement

The picnic day....so special
No classes ...no lessons
No prayers.... no ringing bells
Seniors...juniors...teachers
All into one bus..all into one world

Entering the zoo park...holding hands of your best buddy
Walking in the queue...looking into the enclosures
No mobiles then....no selfies...
Yet capturing all those moments in to this tiny brain

Alas those golden days ...
with young free minds
In the free air... in the world free of fears

Nothing like picnics during school days
In the company of dear friends
With the beauty of innocent thoughts
So refreshing....so replenishing!

I love this. "[T]he beauty of innocent thoughts" and joy of togetherness contrast with the cages of the destination--a hidden worm in the apple of this offering. Your poem is also "So refreshing....so replenishing!"

That feeling of escaping from the mundane to a new world is magnificent and stays with you long after the event. It sets a standard of happiness for you that lasts and lasts. You expressed this so well.

Yes how refreshing that excitement and freedom is - I suppose picnics are enjoyed in different ways as time moves forward... but i agree... freedom from screens and selfies is pretty good!

Such a wonderful childhood memory. The innocence of back then, when life was young, and fun, and full of adventure. Loved this.
