You....My Love....

The thirst for you

The quest for you

Ever keeps me unrest

I don’t exactly remember

When and where it began

I don’t exactly recollect

How and why it has started

But let me tell you

There is no single day in my life,

Since I gained senses,

When I have not longed for you

When I have not asked for you

But…You just like a shadow

Always running away from me

Whenever I tried to hold you

You just slipped away from me

It’s not that you embraced me

It’s not that you engulfed me

But you always remained enigmatic to me

So many facets…so many transits

Yet you my love…

You always remained elusive to me

You always remained enchanting to me

smiles...that is the blessing and the curse...the desire...the chase...but never quite grasping them completely...def a thirst....

The grasping, the desire, so well captured and made alive.

I like this poem very much, PT. I do understand the thirsting / longing for someone just as you have written it. Sometimes one doesn't know why someone remains elusive....and maybe sometime it is better not to know.

Very good poem, PT. I liked how this is not just a love poem but one with a difference and a bit of mystery. I also like how the yearning is conveyed.

A palpable longing in this PT. That which is elusive can make us thirst even more!

I love this poem, PT! It expresses so neatly the yearning it feels when the one we love doesn't love us back... This is definetely a true thirst. And still you gave this sad feeling a magical, enchanting and misterious touch.

Enigmatic people sure are interesting but sometimes they can be hard for our hearts to handle. A great write and I love the whole wistful melancholy behind the words.
